OnePlus has started building anticipation for the OnePlus 15 ahead of its formal launch, confirming a fresh design direction and flagship-level performance powered by Qualcomm’s latest chipset.
Launch timing and expected price
OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 15 in China in the coming days, with an India debut likely to follow in January 2026 if the company follows its usual rollout schedule. Industry leaks suggest the Indian starting price could be around Rs. 74,999 for the 12GB + 256GB configuration, with broader estimates placing the device in the Rs. 70,000 price band consistent with prior OnePlus flagships.
Design and display
Leaked images and company teasers indicate OnePlus is moving away from its circular rear camera module in favour of a rectangular camera island positioned at the top right of the rear panel, a look reminiscent of the OnePlus 13s. The handset is also expected to include a new customizable physical button for shortcut controls.
Up front, the OnePlus 15 is rumoured to sport a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED flat display with curved edges, 1.15 mm thin bezels, 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate.
Camera
The OnePlus 15 is expected to carry a triple-camera system comprising three 50MP sensors for the main, ultrawide and telephoto roles, with the telephoto module likely offering 3x optical zoom. Periodic rumours have suggested a high-resolution 200MP periscope option, but that remains unconfirmed. OnePlus is also reportedly moving away from its Hasselblad collaboration and preparing to launch its own imaging platform.
Performance, software and battery
The OnePlus 15 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in China, promising a substantial performance uplift and deeper AI integration. Configurations are expected to include up to 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone should ship with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16, and OnePlus is said to offer extended support with 5 years of OS updates and 6 years of security patches.
Battery capacity is widely rumoured to be large, with reports pointing to a 7000 mAh cell and support for 120W wired fast charging.
Market positioning
If the leaked specifications and pricing hold, the OnePlus 15 will compete directly with other premium flagships in India by combining a redesigned look, top-tier chipset, high-refresh LTPO display and a focus on fast charging and long-term software support. OnePlus is expected to reveal full specifications and official pricing at the China launch, with an India launch announcement to follow.
