Apple’s biggest event of the year delivered a sweeping upgrade across its smartphone and wearable lineups. The company introduced the ultra-thin iPhone Air alongside the standard iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, each now boasting a 120 Hz display previously exclusive to Pro models. Apple also returned to an aluminium frame for its flagship handsets and standardized a 48 MP Fusion camera system from entry-level to Pro models, underlining a renewed focus on design consistency and imaging prowess.

The iPhone 17 retains Apple’s signature balance of performance and simplicity. It features a 6.3-inch display with ProMotion 120Hz refresh rates driven by the A19 chip. Camera duties fall to a dual 48 MP system with sensor-shift optical image stabilisation and 2X telephoto, while the 18 MP front camera supports Centre Stage for video calls. Battery life improves modestly over its predecessor, and storage starts at 256GB.
iPhone Air
Apple’s slimmest ever iPhone, the Air measures just 5.6 mm thick and houses a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display running at 120Hz. Under the hood sits the A19 Pro chip paired with a new C1X modem, promising up to 20 percent faster download speeds on 5G networks. The single 48 MP rear camera captures detailed stills, while the 18 MP front sensor delivers refined selfie performance. Apple claims up to 27 hours of video playback and fast-charge capability reaching 50 percent in 30 minutes. Colour options include space black, cloud white, light gold and sky blue.
iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max
Powered by the new A19 Pro chip built on a 3 nm process, both Pro models feature a six-core CPU, six-core GPU and a 16-core Neural Engine optimised for AI tasks. Connectivity is handled by the N1 wireless component, adding Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6 and faster AirDrop and Personal Hotspot.

The 18 MP front camera now supports dual-capture recording, portrait shots in both orientations and advanced video formats such as ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2. Both Pro models charge to 50 percent in about 20 minutes using Apple’s new 40W USB-C adapter.
