OnePlus Has Started Rolling Out OxygenOS 16 to The OnePlus 13 and 13s: Check Features

OnePlus has started rolling out OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, to the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13s. The update brings smoother system animations, resizable icons, a redesigned visual language, lock screen widgets and expanded AI features under the Plus Mind umbrella.

How to get OxygenOS 16

  • Make sure your phone is running the latest OxygenOS build.
  • Open Settings > Software update.
  • When the OxygenOS 16 package appears, tap Download and install.
  • Pro tip: free up storage before installing and keep the battery above 50%.

Key features

Fluid animations

OnePlus says OxygenOS 16 uses “Parallel Processing 2.0” to make UI motion smoother by letting new animations begin before prior actions fully finish. The result is continuous, more responsive transitions across system interactions, navigation gestures and app switching.

Resizable icons and tablet optimizations

A new home-screen control lets users enlarge app icons and folders. Tablet-focused changes include expanded multitasking: Open Canvas can now hold up to 5 apps, split view supports 3 apps, and floating windows can contain 2 apps.

Lock screen widgets, wallpapers and themes

OxygenOS 16 introduces Flux Theme 2.0, which supports video wallpapers and Motion Photos for richer depth effects. The Always On Display can show full-screen wallpapers and additional info, and users can add widgets directly to the lock screen with horizontal or vertical placement depending on the theme.

Fluid Cloud and UI refresh

Live updates and real-time alerts from services such as food delivery, sports apps and music players can appear on the lock screen via Fluid Cloud. The UI receives a visual refresh with translucent surfaces, rounded corners and Gaussian blur effects across the App Drawer, Home screen and Quick Settings. First-party apps like Calculator and Clock also get refreshed designs and features.

Plus Mind AI enhancements

Plus Mind, first introduced on the OnePlus 13S, has been expanded significantly. Users can save and share images, record up to one-minute voice memos by long-pressing the Plus Key on supported phones, and capture extended screenshots to store longer documents or articles inside the feature.

Rollout schedule and eligible devices

  • First wave (now): OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13s plus imminent updates for OnePlus 13R, OnePlus Open, OnePlus 12, OnePlus Pad 3, OnePlus Pad 2, and OnePlus 12R.

  • Final wave (January–March 2026): OnePlus Pad, OnePlus Pad Lite, OnePlus 10 Pro, OnePlus Nord CE 4, OnePlus Nord CE 4 Lite.
