OnePlus is set to unveil its next-generation flagship, the OnePlus 15, later this year, bypassing the “14” in its naming sequence due to the number’s unlucky connotations in Chinese culture.
According to a Geekbench listing under model number PLK110, the OnePlus 15 will debut as the first handset powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. Early benchmarks suggest a high-performance configuration featuring two prime cores clocked up to 4.61 GHz and six efficiency cores at 3.63 GHz, paired with 16GB of RAM and OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.
The flagship will arrive in multiple memory and storage options:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB or 512GB
- 16GB RAM + 256GB or 512GB
- 16GB RAM + 1TB
On the display front, the OnePlus 15 is tipped to sport a 6.78-inch flat LTPO panel with 1.5K resolution and a blistering 165Hz refresh rate. Battery capacity is rumoured to exceed 7000 mAh, complemented by 100W fast-charging support—a significant jump from the 6000 mAh cell in last year’s OnePlus 13.
The OnePlus 13, launched in 2024, topped out at 24GB RAM, 1TB storage, and featured a 6000 mAh battery, highlighting the substantial performance and endurance leap expected with the new model.
Industry insiders anticipate an October launch in China, with a global rollout following in January 2026. Leaks also point to three colour options—Black, Purple, and Titanium—and a redesigned camera module that could redefine OnePlus’s flagship aesthetics.
For Indian consumers, the OnePlus 15 promises dramatic gains in processing power, battery life, and display quality. By skipping the OnePlus 14, the company not only nods to cultural sensitivities but also sets the stage for an ambitious product leap that could steer future naming conventions across the industry.
