Tomorrow night at 10:30 PM IST, Apple will officially kick off its September keynote, where the tech giant is expected to reveal the iPhone 17 lineup—culminating in two Pro models that promise significant design and performance overhauls. Industry insiders and leaksters have already painted a picture of what to expect from the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max, pointing to eight standout upgrades.
Top iPhone 17 Pro Features to Watch
- Redesigned camera island featuring a rounded-rectangle bar housing a triple-lens setup; the Pro Max could be marginally thicker at around 8.7 mm.
- Part-aluminium, part-glass rear panel, ditching the titanium finish of previous Pro models.
- New anti-reflective front glass, boosting scratch resistance beyond the current Ceramic Shield standard.
- Larger-capacity battery—up to 5000 mAh in the Pro Max—with software optimizations aimed at extending real-world stamina.
- A19 Pro chip built on an enhanced 3 nm process from TSMC, paired with 12GB of RAM for peak performance.
- Vapour-chamber cooling system to sustain demanding tasks like 3D gaming or prolonged ProRes video capture.
- Upgraded telephoto camera jumping from 12 MP to 48 MP with up to 8× optical zoom, alongside a 24 MP front-facing camera.
- 8K video recording capability, plus a “dual video” mode that records simultaneously from front and rear lenses.

Pre-Order and Availability
Apple will open pre-orders on September 12 at 5 a.m. PT (8 a.m. ET). Members of the Apple Upgrade Program can pre-approve their orders in the days leading up to the window. Official deliveries begin on September 19, with early buyers able to pick up devices in Apple Stores and through carrier partners.
Beyond the iPhone
The September keynote will also shine a light on new wearables and accessories, including the Apple Watch Series 11, Apple Watch Ultra 3, and third-generation AirPods Pro with enhanced noise cancellation. Apple is expected to introduce refreshed tech-woven iPhone cases, crossbody straps, and new Apple Watch bands.
On the software side, iOS 26 will debut alongside watchOS 26, iPadOS 26, tvOS 26, macOS Tahoe 26, and visionOS 26, with public release candidates following the event. Looking ahead, Apple’s October calendar may feature an iPad Pro powered by the M5 chip, updated MacBook Pro models, and possibly a consumer launch of Apple Vision Pro. Rumours also hint that a foldable iPhone could arrive in 2026, borrowing design cues from the forthcoming iPhone 17 Air.
