Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4, the newest member of its Snapdragon 6 family built on a 4nm process node designed to bring noticeable gains in performance, gaming, photography and connectivity to mid-range smartphones.
Performance improvements and gaming features
The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 packs a Kryo CPU clocked up to 2.4 GHz, which Qualcomm says delivers a 36% uplift in overall performance versus the previous generation, promising faster app launches, smoother multitasking and snappier everyday responsiveness. Graphics performance is significantly improved as well, with the integrated Adreno GPU offering up to 59% better graphics throughput, translating to sharper visuals and higher frame rates for mobile games.
The platform brings Snapdragon Elite Gaming capabilities to the mid-range tier, enabling 144 FPS gameplay at FHD+, Variable Rate Shading (VRS) for power-efficient rendering, and Game Quick Touch to reduce touch response latency during fast-paced gaming sessions.

Camera and imaging
Qualcomm’s Spectra ISP on the 6s Gen 4 supports up to 200-megapixel stills and high-resolution video capture. The platform includes hardware-accelerated Multi-Frame Noise Reduction (MFNR) to improve clarity and detail in low-light photos, aiming to raise camera performance on more affordable devices.
Connectivity and audio
The chipset integrates Qualcomm’s latest 5G Modem-RF System with 5G Release 16 support and peak download speeds up to 2.9 Gbps, promising broader coverage and faster mobile data for gaming, streaming and everyday use. Wireless connectivity is enhanced via FastConnect, which delivers Wi‑Fi 6/6E and Bluetooth 5.4 support. Audio and media receive upgrades through Snapdragon Sound, along with AI-Enhanced Signal Boost and Smart Transmit 2.0 for clearer calls and more stable connections.
What this means and market positioning
By bringing advanced CPU and GPU improvements, flagship-level gaming features, high-resolution imaging and modern connectivity to a 4nm mid-range platform, Qualcomm aims to narrow the gap between premium and affordable smartphones. The Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 is positioned to power the next wave of budget and mid-tier devices that offer premium-feeling experiences without flagship pricing.
Availability
Qualcomm has announced the platform and its capabilities; device makers are expected to begin revealing phones powered by the Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 in the coming months.
