OnePlus 15 launched with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and 7300 mAh Battery

OnePlus has unveiled the OnePlus 15 in China, packing flagship hardware including Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 7300 mAh battery and the company’s new DetailMax imaging engine (called Lumo in China). The phone introduces a revised design, an advanced 1.5K LTPO AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, and a triple 50MP rear camera setup. The handset launches in multiple memory configurations and starts at 3,999 yuan for the base model.

Design and build

The OnePlus 15 moves away from last year’s look with a more square camera module and an elegant matte back. OnePlus says the frame uses a microspace-grade nano-ceramic metal for a premium feel. The device carries comprehensive dust and water protection with IP66, IP68, IP69 and IP69K ratings.

Display

The phone features a 6.78-inch 1272 x 2772 (1.5K) LTPO AMOLED panel with a 165Hz refresh rate—the first time OnePlus has offered that refresh level. Bezels are extremely slim at about 1.15mm and the display includes a dedicated Display P3 chip to enhance colour and viewing experience. Peak brightness reaches 6,000 nits, HBM mode tops out at 1,800 nits, and the panel supports PWM dimming, Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and HDR Vivid.

Performance and configurations

Under the hood the OnePlus 15 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with the Adreno 840 GPU and a dedicated G2 gaming chip for better sustained gaming performance. Storage and memory options include 12GB+256GB, 16GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, 16GB+512GB and 16GB+1TB, covering a wide range of power and capacity needs. The OnePlus 15 comes with OxygenOS 16 based on Android 16 out of the box.

Cameras and imaging

OnePlus has dropped the Hasselblad branding and introduced its new DetailMax imaging engine, marketed as Lumo in China. The rear array comprises three 50MP sensors: a primary f/1.8 with Sony LYT-808 sensor, an ultrawide f/2.0 with Samsung JN5 sensor and a 3.5X telephoto f/2.8 also with Samsung JN5 sensor; the selfie camera is a 32MP f/2.4 with Sony IMX615 sensor. Video capture reaches up to 8K at 30fps on the rear cameras and up to 4K at 60fps on the front camera.

Battery and charging

A standout spec is the 7300 mAh battery, cooled by Glacier vapour cooling for thermal control. Charging includes 120W wired, 50W wireless, 5W reverse wired, 10W reverse wireless and bypass charging for efficient battery management and device use while charging.

Connectivity and sensors

The OnePlus 15 offers comprehensive connectivity, including USB Type-C 3.2, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC and an infrared port, plus satellite and network positioning with GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, Galileo, QZSS and NAVIC. Biometric and environmental sensing are handled by an ultrasonic in‑display fingerprint reader and a suite of sensors: accelerometer, proximity sensor, gyroscope, compass and barometer.

Availability and pricing

The OnePlus 15 is currently on sale in China, with the 12GB+256GB base model priced at 3,999 yuan. OnePlus plans a global rollout with expected launches in markets including India in mid-November, and Indian pricing is anticipated to align closely with last year’s OnePlus 13 launch levels.
