Apple is set to unveil its most-awaited iPhone 17 series on September 8, 2025. Rumours suggests that there will be a keynote on Tuesday, September 9, or Wednesday, September 10. Preorders are expected to kick off on Friday, September 12, followed by in-store availability on Friday, September 19. iPhone 17 Series is expected come with a more powerful chipset, new design, new colours, improved camera, improved battery life and more AI features.
Four Models, One Event
Apple’s iPhone 17 family will include:
- iPhone 17
- iPhone 17 Pro
- iPhone 17 Pro Max
- iPhone 17 Air
This marks the first time Apple offers an ultra-thin “Air” model alongside its standard and Pro variants, catering to users who prioritize a lightweight design.
Power and Performance
All four iPhone 17 models will be powered by Apple’s next-generation A19 chipset which is built on a 3nm process, but the Pro and Pro Max will be powered by the enhanced A19 Pro. RAM capacity increased to 12GB on Pro models, but remains same 8GB on the base and Air model. The increased RAM ensures smoother multitasking and support for Apple Intelligence features.

Display and Design
Apple is retaining familiar screen sizes while introducing fresh design touches:

- iPhone 17 Pro: 6.3-inch LTPO OLED with 120Hz refresh rate
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 6.9-inch LTPO OLED with 120Hz refresh rate
- iPhone 17 Air: 6.6-inch OLED with 5.5 mm thickness
Leaked renders show a horizontal camera module on Pro models which covers the whole upper part of the back panel. The triple camera setup will be on the left side and the lidar scanner and flash will be on the right side. Renders also show a repositioned Apple logo, and new colour options which includes pastel purple for the base models and a soft sky blue for Pro models.
Camera Upgrades
Front and rear cameras receive significant boosts:
- 24MP front sensor across all models
- iPhone 17: Dual rear camera setup – 48MP Wide Angle + 12MP Ultra-Wide
- iPhone 17 Pro: Triple camera setup with a 48MP telephoto with 3.5× optical zoom
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: Periscope telephoto lens for up to 5× optical zoom
- iPhone 17 Air: Single camera setup – 48MP Wide Angle
Pro variants will also gain dual-camera video recording, capturing both front and rear feeds simultaneously.
Pricing and Availability
In India, the iPhone 17 series is expected to start at around ₹79,900 for the base model, with the iPhone 17 Pro priced near ₹1,45,000. Global pricing is likely to follow the precedent set by the iPhone 15 and 16 series, with minor adjustments for regional tariffs.
